Mr Illusivo (aka "REX")
2944086 AQHA 1990 gray gelding
If you're looking for a HIGH SCHOOL rodeo horse, you need to consider Rex. He's a solid 1D/2D barrel horse and an EVEN BETTER pole horse. Doesn't have to have an extremely aggressive rider to perform; however, the more aggressive the rider, the faster the performance. He needs an experienced rider because he gets a little antsy before his run. He's good in the alley, but when it's his turn, he just gets ready go to, gets on the muscle and you have to hold him until it's his turn.
He ran in the 2D at the Booger Barter in Waco. I've been riding this horse for about 10 months and have learned a lot from him. I'm beginning to drive him harder now than I ever have and ran a 15.4 at the Diamond F arena (arena record is 15.0). He prefers a smaller arena to a larger arena. Ground is never a factor. He runs the same in deep ground as he does on hard ground. He runs hard to the first barrel and turns it every time. Never runs up the fence or misses a barrel. I won the open rodeo buckle series at Twin Elm Guest Ranch in Bandera over the summer on him. He's just as good on poles. He runs 19/20 second poles. Rex would make an excellent High School rodeo or youth rodeo horse.
Rex's breeding is all about speed and performance as he goes back to Beduino, Streakin Six, Go Man Go, Easy Jet, and Three Oh's. His sire, Illusivo, had a speed index of 108. Both maternal grandparents had speed indices of 104.
